LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK - Crews from Central Minnesota continue to help restore power to the east coast.

East Central Energy says they have four linemen and two trucks working in Long Island, New York, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.  They are working with crews from Canada and Iowa.

A new storm battered the area with gusting wind and snow on Wednesday, causing new outages.

Nine Minnesota electric cooperatives have sent 42 line workers and 18 rigs to assist with the recovery effort in Connecticut and Long Island.
