MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minneapolis police officer was injured and a suspect was shot after a foot chase.

According to a department news release, officers responded to a report of a fight and a man with a gun at about 3:30 p.m. Friday. Police say officers found two suspects fleeing and they started chasing them.

Police spokesman Scott Seroka says police opened fire and wounded one of the suspects.

The other suspect suffered minor injuries, but it was unclear how they were inflicted. The officer and both suspects were taken to the hospital.

Police say the officer's injuries were related to the foot chase. Officers recovered a handgun. No one else was being sought.
