MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A St. Paul man has been sentenced to more than 13 years in prison for a downtown Minneapolis shooting that seriously injured a bystander.

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office says 29-year-old Delorien Chatman pleaded guilty to first- and second-degree assault and illegally possessing a gun.

The incident happened last August. Witnesses say two men had gotten into a fight and Chatman got knocked to the ground. Chatman pulled out a gun and when he got up, fired a shot that hit the victim, and then ran away.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach.
