ST. CLOUD -- A central Minnesota organization is recognizing community members who support the work they are doing in arts and education.

The District 742 Local Education & Activities Foundation (LEAF) has announced its 2022 award winners. Awardees were chosen based on lifetime service, volunteerism, charitable donations, and instructional excellence. The winners were honored at a virtual event on Monday.

The Volunteer Service Award was given to Tim Beck. The Charitable Giving Award for businesses was given to Al Dahlgren for Once Upon A Child. In the individual category, that same award went to Peggy Carlson and Chuck Nielsen, Robert Gardetto, Janet and Mike Reagan, and Janna and Mike LaFountaine.

The Instructional Excellence Award was given to incoming St. Cloud Superintendent Laurie Putnam and the District 742 bus drivers and transportation staff members. The Lifetime Service Award went to Bob Feigh.

Since 1996, LEAF has provided more than $2.4 million to programming in the St. Cloud Area School District.
