MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota will host another Scandinavian royal couple.

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are planning an October visit to Minnesota, where one in 10 residents claim some Swedish heritage. The royal couple will travel to St. Peter for the 150th anniversary of Gustavus Adolphus College, which was founded by Swedish immigrants.

The king and queen plan to dedicate the Carl and Leslie Nelson Cultural Center at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. The center, which opens June 30, features Nordic arts, music and culture.

The royal visit comes about 12 months after Norway's King Harald and Queen Sophia visited Minnesota.
