Judges Incorrectly Asked for ID at One St. Cloud Precinct

CLEARWATER - A judge at a St. Cloud school district polling place was incorrectly asking for ID's this morning (Tuesday). District 742 spokesperson Tami Deland says the error happened right when polls opened at the Clearview polling location.

As soon as the polling began at Clearview this morning, my understanding is there was one election judge that was asking for identification, which is not the process.

DeLand says the judges were contacted and the situation was corrected quickly.

As soon as it was reported, the election judges were called at Clearview. They were told this is incorrect procedure, you cannot ask for identification from a registered voter.

The mistake only happened at the Clearview polling location. DeLand says judges at every other precinct were also reminded of proper procedure.
