Josephine A. Leidenfrost, 90 year old resident of Pierz, passed away on Wednesday, July 22 at the Pierz Villa surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 27 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Father David Maciej officiating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 A.M. on Monday at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz.

Josephine A. Perleberg was born on May 12, 1936 in Buckman, MN to the late Peter and Mary (Weiling) Perleberg. She grew up in the Pierz area and attended Royalton Public Schools. After high school she moved to St. Cloud, where she worked at Dan Marsh Drug Store and a local dental office. She was united in marriage to Leon Leidenfrost on April 10, 1956. The couple made their home in Agram Township, Morrison County. They were blessed with four children, Debbie, Bill, Tom and Mary. Josie was a stay at home mom raising her children and helping her husband on the farm. After retiring from farming, she went back to work for 23 years at Pierz Foods retiring at the age of 82. Josie enjoyed playing cards, poker, smear, baking cookies, fishing, pitching horseshoes and bowling. She always had a beautiful garden and enjoyed canning.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie (Bryan) Hill of Little Falls, Tom Leidenfrost of Pierz, Mary (Jimmy) Kloss of Pierz; daughter-in-law, Joy Leidenfrost of Pierz; sister, Jeanette Perleberg of Buckman; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Perleberg of Pierz, Neddie Leidenfrost of Buckman; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Perleberg; husband, Leon; son, Bill Leidenfrost; daughter-in-law, Joyce Leidenfrost; siblings, Gerald Perleberg, Leo Perleberg, Irene Brogdon, Susan Loscheider and Helen Perleberg.
