Minnesota State Fair Again Ranked #1 – Time to Eat
The Minnesota State Fair is essentially just right around the corner, as crazy as that might seem. And people start marking their days as to when they will be attending the fair. You try and figure out the cheapest day, watch the weather, try and get there on a day that isn't "that" busy, whatever it is. People try and plan for the best day they can have at the fair.
Personally, we go every other year. It's just what we do. I also know people who have never gone, and people who go multiple times a year.
WHAT DO PEOPLE USUALLY GO TO THE FAIR FOR
What is the best thing about almost any fair? It's the food. And the Minnesota State Fair is no different. In fact, they come out every year with new and different foods. Some you might think are awesome and others that are real head scratchers. Like the Pickle Pie. And that includes the drink options too. Like the ranch beer with ranch powder on the rim of the cup. That might be a hard pass for me, but maybe you will think it's great! Ranch dressing does seem to be the thing that America is known for - that is if you listen to the World Cup fans.
MINNESOTA STATE FAIR IS AT THE TOP OF THIS LIST - AGAIN
Every year there is a ranking that is put out by Yelp of the best fairs with the best food. And guess what - Minnesota wins that ranking again!
MIDWEST IS THE DOMINATE FORCE FOR THIS LIST
This is from Food and Wine - and the Midwest dominates for fair "eats". Honestly, it really doesn't surprise me. The Midwest seems to enjoy food more than other areas in the country. Or maybe it just seems like that - but the fair ranking does seem to support that notion.
- Minnesota State Fair (Saint Paul, Minnesota)
- Wisconsin State Fair (West Allis, Wisconsin) Basically Milwaukee
- Iowa State Fair (Des Moines, Iowa)
- New York State Fair (Syracuse, New York)
- Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center (Indianapolis, Indiana)
- State Fair of Texas (Dallas, Texas)
- The Big E (West Springfield, Massachusetts)
- Florida State Fairgrounds (Tampa, Florida)
- Alaska State Fair (Palmer, Alaska)
- N.C. State Fair (Raleigh, North Carolina)
So - if you are thinking about endulging in some awesome fair food - this is where you need to go! Minnesota almost always comes in at number 1, and usually Texas is right behind. That is, when you are just ranking an overall fair. Minnesota still reigns supreme when it comes to the food.
