Dollar Tree Expected to Close 75 Stores – Including St. Cloud?

When you hear that a chain of stores are closing, if you are a person who frequents that particular store, you might get a bit worried.

DOLLAR TREE ANNOUNCED THEY WILL BE CLOSING SEVERAL STORES - BUT ALSO OPENING MANY MORE

Here is the kicker - yes, Dollar Tree is planning on closing about 75 stores nationwide, BUT they are also opening about 400 other stores across the country.  That is almost unheard of when you find out that there are going to be several closings of many stores.

The Chesapeake, Virginia-based company said in its first-quarter earnings report, released May 28, that it expects to close about 75 stores during fiscal 2026. It did not say which locations will shut their doors. At the same time, Dollar Tree plans to open roughly 400 new stores this year, meaning its total store count is expected to grow.

Dollar Tree has been around for the last 40 years.  They started out as "Only $1.00" back in the beginning.  Then they morphed into Dollar Tree by 1993.

REMEMBER NOT EVERYTHING IS A DOLLAR AT THE DOLLAR STORE

It's called Dollar Tree, but not everything is a dollar.  Same with Dollar General and Family Dollar.  However, they are still very inexpensive, I just think it makes more sense with stores like Five Below, which just means that everything is under five dollars. Sometimes, you do need to accept the fact that you do get what you pay for.  But if you are looking for some inexpensive things that are not supposed to be for the long term, it's a great place to shop.  Obvioulsy, there are things that will last that can be purchased from that store, but if something breaks easily, or just doesn't hold up, you know why.

WHERE ARE THE LOCATIONS FOR THE STORE CLOSINGS/OPENINGS

There is no final decision as to which locations will be closing or where the new ones will be opened.
