ST. CLOUD -- A major interchange project in south St. Cloud keeps moving forward despite some challenges with the soil.

St. Cloud City Engineer Steve Foss says the Highway 15-33rd Street South interchange project is still on schedule but it's very tight.

Foss says they encountered very wet, unstable soil conditions near 33rd Street South that required a lot of dirt to be moved out and useable soil moved back onto the site.

33rd Street South remains closed to traffic and there are overnight lane closures along Highway 15.

The $10.9-million project includes roundabouts at County Road 74 and Graniteview Road. Roundabouts will also be built on each end of the Highway 15 overpass, allowing traffic to access Highway 15.

The project is scheduled to be completed in November.
