ANOKA (AP) — A man accused of killing a young Minnesota woman whose body was found in a towed car is charged with first-degree murder.

An Anoka County grand jury indicted 23-year-old Alberto Prece Palmer in the beating death of 18-year-old Brittany Clardy.

Palmer originally was charged with second-degree murder in Clardy's February death. He appeared in court on the indictment Monday.

According to the complaint, Palmer admitted to police that he killed Clardy at his brother's home in Brooklyn Park. He said he found Clardy through online massage ads and arranged for her to come to the house.

Clardy's body later was found hidden in blankets in a towed car.

Palmer was wanted in a string of attacks against women in Georgia. He remains in jail with bail set at $2 million.
