SARTELL - The Tom Bearson Foundation in Sartell is continuing to fine tune the focus of their mission. Founder Greg Bearson says they're going to gradually move toward stressing personal safety for graduating high school seniors.

As our foundation kind of matures a little bit now, we've been around for going on almost two years, we're actually looking to go more toward partnering or collaborating with people or organizations that promote personal responsibility and safety for high school students before they go off to college, a tech school, or even off to work.

Some of the projects the Tom Bearson Foundation has funded in the past include: a remodel of the St. Francis gym, scholarships, and a spirit award.

It's still a few months away, but the Tom Bearson Foundation is already gearing-up for their big annual fundraiser. The 3rd annual Golf Out and Bean Bag Tournament is coming up in July. Greg Bearson says they're signing-up golfers right now. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 15th at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell starting at 11:00 a.m.

Greg's son Tom was murdered in the Fargo-Moorhead area in September of 2014, just one month into his freshman year of college.
