Fresh Thyme Farmers Market To Hold Grand Opening This Week

WAITE PARK -- A specialty grocery store focusing on healthy and organic foods opens this week.

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market in Waite Park will hold their grand opening at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.

President and CEO Chris Sherrell says the community has been welcoming since they first arrived in Minnesota.

"It's been an outstanding start. We have one store that's over a year old and several others that are six to eight months old, so yes we've had a warm welcome," says Sherrell.

The first 250 shoppers in line Wednesday will received a free bag of groceries. Fresh Thyme will also have family-friendly activities, samplings, and live music throughout the week to celebrate the grand opening.

Sherrell says the store's strong push for fresh, healthy and organic products offers something different the community hasn't seen before.

"It comes with an overall commitment to our produce and freshness and just trying to commit to bring a healthier lifestyle to the masses at affordable prices," says Sherrell.

To show their commitment towards to community Sherrell says they plan to donate 100 percent of their proceeds from their Boars Head hot dog cart this week to the Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota.

Fresh Thyme will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

This will be the sixth store in Minnesota and 51st location overall. They plan to open 70 store locations by the end of the year.
