Former Wilson School Could Become Day Care Center

ST. CLOUD - The empty former Wilson school could been turned into a child care center.

The District 742 school board will vote tonight (Wednesday) whether to approve a three year lease with Little Saints Academy.  The lease would run from January 1st of 2012 through December 31st of 2014.  Rent would be $3,350 a month for the first year, with slight increases each of the two following years.

District 742 closed the building in 2009, and it has sat empty since then.  Executive Director of Business Services Kevin Januszewski says the district's long term plan is to sell the building, but they're waiting for the economy to turn around.

The district is also leasing part of the former Kennedy school building in St. Joseph to a day care center.
