Fire in the Chimney of a Collegeville Township Home

COLLGEVILLE TOWNSHIP - There was a fire at a Collegeville Township home last (Monday) night.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Department says the fire was called in at about 8:30 p.m. on Island Lake Road.

The homeowner, 56-year-old Joseph Opitz of Cold Spring, says the fire started in the chimney of the southeast side of the home.  Nobody was hurt.

The Avon and St. Joseph fire departments were able to get the fire under control.
