Fire Destroys Straw Bales, Damages Building

ST. MARTIN TOWNSHIP - Some bales were on fire at a farm near St. Martin last (Thursday) night.

The Stearns County Sheriff's department say a passer-by called in the fire report on County Road 12 in St. Martin Township just after 9:30 p.m.

The caller noticed the bales on fire at a farm owned by James Boeckers of Melrose.  They also saw someone using a skid-loader to move the burning bales away from a building.  Part of the a building, and six to seven straw bales, were damaged.

The were no injuries.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
