Ex-Boyfriend Charged In Fatal St. Paul Stabbing
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The former boyfriend of a woman fatally stabbed in St. Paul is charged with her murder.
Forty-nine-year-old Kevin Scott Evans appeared in Ramsey County court Wednesday on a second-degree murder charge. Bail is set at $1 million, and Evans remains in jail.
Thirty-eight-year-old Miranda Schunk was found stabbed multiple times at an apartment building Sunday night.
Court records show Evans has a history of violence and Schunk had gotten a protection order prohibiting him from contacting her.
Reports say Evans is on probation for a 1986 murder and also has convictions for assault and robbery. He was arrested at the Minneapolis Public Library Monday.
Evans' request for a public defender was granted. He is due back in court January 28th.
