SARTELL -- Eight people have applied to fill the vacancy on the Sartell City Council.

The open seat is a result of Joe Perske's election to the mayoral post.

Two of the applicants ran in the 2010 election. Mike Chisum and Joel Ohman are former candidates.  They join Sartell-St. Stephen School Board member Patrick Jacobson-Schulte, Joint Planning Commission members Robin Oehrlein and Sandie Cordie and United Way Executive Director Noreen Dunnells in the running.  Also running are former Sartell Economic Development Commission member and Princeton High School employee Cindy Fitzhum and former St. Cloud HRA Chair and current UBS Financial Advisor Jeff Baumgartner.

The council will review the applications, decide who they want to interview, conduct those interviews and then appoint the winning candidate at their February 14th meeting.

Perske's former seat is a two-year term.
