MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A 17-year-old Perham High School basketball player continues to recover after collapsing during a game in January.

A doctor at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, says Zach Gabbard's heart has "fully recovered."

Dr. Ranjit John says Gabbard is close to being discharged from the hospital to continue physical therapy at a rehabilitation center.

Gabbard collapsed during a game in Glyndon on Jan. 20. He was later transferred to the Minneapolis hospital.

A fundraiser for Gabbard's family is scheduled for Sunday in New Hope.
