MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A medical examiner's report says the death of a rising Twin Cities rapper was the result of an overdose of fentanyl and alcohol.

Lexii Alijai was found unconscious and possibly suffering cardiac arrest at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel on New Year's Day. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office announced the autopsy findings Monday. She was 21 years old.

By the time Alijai was 18 she had already amassed 20,000 Instagram followers, more than 100,000 SoundCloud streams and an appearance on a Grammy-nominated album. She appeared in clubs around the Twin Cities and was part of the Super Bowl Live festival on Nicollet Mall in January 2018.
