FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The top men's and women's curling teams in the United States are in North Dakota chasing an Olympic dream.

Four women's teams and five men's teams are in the trials for next year's Winter Games. The women's winner is guaranteed a trip to Sochi, Russia. The men's winner advances to another qualifier in Germany.

One of the participants, Pete Fenson of Bemidji, Minn., led a team that won bronze in the 2006 Olympics.

Fenson says the national TV exposure during the Olympics is great for the sport and he hopes to "get another whack" at the Games.

USA Curling officials say the sport has grown 48 percent in the last decade, to 16,000 curlers.

Fargo also hosted the men's and women's national curling championships in 2011.
