UPDATE: Police Release Name Of Man Killed In Sauk River Crash

ST. CLOUD - A Clear Lake man is dead after law enforcement responded to a car crash on County Road 75 at the Sauk River Bridge last night.

Jeffrey Duncan Sass, 23, was traveling east when the driver struck the bridge guardrail, causing the vehicle to travel over the bridge and leaving the roadway. The vehicle came to rest in the Sauk River.

Responding law enforcement pushed the vehicle to its wheels and pronounced Sass dead at the scene, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Sass graduated from Becker High School in 2008 and from St. John’s University in 2012. Jeff studied in Guatemala for six months and spent the last year volunteering in Costa Rica with terminally ill children in preparation for medical school.
