MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Public agencies say complying with Minnesota's buy-American law isn't always as easy as it may seem.

The year-old law says public agencies' uniforms and protective gear must be made in the United States. Some agencies say American goods can come at a premium price and getting the right specifications can be difficult.

Republican Rep. Jenifer Loon, of Eden Prairie, plans to re-introduce a bill to repeal the law in response to complaints that the law is an unfunded mandate at a time of financial stress. Loon moved to repeal the law last year, but the bill stalled.
