Clear Gas Meters of Snow and Ice

ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud officially received 11 inches of snow in yesterday's storm. All of that snow coupled with high winds has Xcel Energy officials reminding natural gas customers to clear snow and ice away from meters.

Xcel officials say meters, vents and regulators encased in snow and ice can cause gas to build up inside the home and cause a safety hazard.

Be cautious when removing snow and ice to not damage the gas lines or regulator.
