ST. CLOUD -- Local Catholic school leaders are retiring the name of the John XXIII Middle School.

A few weeks ago a plan was announced to bring the 7th and 8th graders from St. Peter, Paul, and Michael over to the John XXIII campus starting next fall.  Cathedral President Mike Mullin says that makes this the perfect time to adopt one unified name.

The John XXIII name has been used for the past 40 years.

Mullin says they're expecting about 70 7th and 8th graders from St. Peter, Paul, and Michael to join the Cathedral Middle School next year.
