St. Cloud Rox pitcher Joey Stock has turned heads this summer with a fastball that can reach up to 95 miles per hour and a projectable 6'5" frame. Stock comes to the Rox via St. John's University.
The St. Rox were well represented at the Northwoods League Major League Baseball Dream Showcase in Madison, Wisconsin Tuesday. The players played games at 4:05 and 7:35.
The Rox lost 12-4 at Mankato Monday night. The Moon Dogs scored 7 runs in the 4th inning to take a 9-0 lead and never looked back. Zach Lauzon threw 3 innings with 5 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to take the loss.
The Rox shutout the visiting Rochester Honkers 8-0 Sunday. Nick Desalvo and Justin Wick combined on the 3-hit shutout for the Rox. Desalvo threw 7 innings with 3 hits allowed, no walks and 7 strikeouts.
St. Cloud defeated the Rochester Honkers 5-3 at home on Saturday night behind Trevor Koenig's 7th win of the season. Koenig shutout Rochester in 8 innings while scattering 5 hits and picking up 6 strikeouts.
The Rox lost 2-1 at home against Waterloo Tuesday night. Brandon Vial shutdown the Rox for 6 2/3 innings with 7 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win. Garrett Delano was the tough-luck loser for the Rox.
