ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- Activity is starting to ramp up on campus at St. Cloud State University. This is move-in weekend for incoming freshmen and transfer students.

Director of Campus Involvement Molly McCann says, while they don't have exact numbers just yet, student enrollment for the domestic population has remained relatively steady. However, they are anticipating a decline in international students.

We have typically welcomed about 1,200 international students.  We don't know the exact numbers yet.  One thing that is interesting is that visas continue to be issued throughout the process, so we are very hopeful that students who have already been in the process will be able to get here, and their visa filings will go through.

McCann says international students who have been successful in getting their visas began arriving in town earlier this month already.

McCann says they require all first-year students to live on campus. However, permanent residents within 35 miles of campus can file for an exemption.

We have four residential halls that are solely focused on our incoming first-year students, just to help with acclimation and engaging with their peers.  We also have part of Mitchell Hall that is dedicated solely to transfer and upperclassmen students, as well as Stateview apartments.

McCann says the four residential halls are Case and Hill Halls, Lawrence Hall, and Shoemaker Hall. Each hall has a different living community.

St. Cloud State University recruits students from all over the state and across the Midwest, but a majority of the students come from east central Minnesota.

SCSU is anticipating that about 1,000 students will move into the dorms over the next few days before the first day of classes on Monday.

Beautiful Photos From Clemens Gardens

This weekend was a great one to get out and do something fun. I wanted to destress, so I drove over to Clemens Gardens for a nice stroll through the gardens. What a beautiful place it is. There are flowers everywhere, as well as fountains and statues. These photos only capture part of what's available to see, but in case you haven't had a chance to visit, now is a great time to view them, as everything is in full bloom. Take a look at some beautiful photos and then make a plan to take your own trip. All of your senses will thank you.
