Camp Ripley Conducting Controlled Burns

CAMP RIPLEY -- If you live near Camp Ripley and see smoke or fire over the camp, do not be alarmed.

Camp Ripley's fire department will be conducting controlled burns today to lessen the risk of wild fires and improve training areas.

About 13-thousand acres of the military reservation will be used for the controlled burns.

The burns will be in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Environmental Department of Camp Ripley.
