ST. CLOUD - Despite dropping out of the race several months ago, Bruce Hentges won a seat on the school board and says he plans to take the position.

Hentges says he decided to serve after seeing the large amount of people who supported him yesterday.

Hentges previously served on the school board from 2009-2013. He withdrew his name from consideration due to potential conflicts with his work as executive director of the Local Education & Activities Foundation. However, Hentges says he was able to balance both positions when he previously served on the board and that there shouldn't be issues going forward.

LEAF is a nonprofit group formed to provide support to St. Cloud school activities. Hentges has been involved since the group formed in 1993 and serves as executive director.

Incumbents Jerry Von Korff and Bruce Mohs were the other two candidates elected to the school board yesterday. Incumbent Peter Hamerlinck finished fourth, Michael Conway fifth and Hassan Abdullahi Yusif sixth. The board plans to finalize the results on November 12th
