MAPLEWOOD (AP) — Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy in the stabbing death of a 16-year-old North St. Paul girl found dead in a Maplewood park last weekend.

Maplewood police say the boy is being held at the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree murder. His name was not released.

The body of Anna Lynn Hurd was found about 4:30 a.m. Saturday in Hillside Park, a few blocks from home. Maplewood Police Chief Dave Kvam has said Hurd died from several stab wounds.

Hurd attended North High School in North St. Paul until Jan. 23. Her last permanent address was with her father in North St. Paul, but police said she had reportedly been frequently staying with friends.
