ST. JOSEPH - After months of preparation, Bad Habit Brewing in downtown St. Joseph is set to have its grand opening on Saturday.

The brewery remodeled a space in the Mill Stream Shops at 15 East Minnesota Street. The opening will be from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Owner Aaron Rieland says it's been a treat to finish the final touches on the business.

"We're excited just to start pouring beers. It's fun working here, the people who stopped and asked when we would open and the excitement of everybody else around here, we just want to get the place open and get it going."

The tap room will have seating for up to 50 people. Rieland says they want to emphasize feedback from guests on what beers they should make and feature.

"A big part of what we're going to do is open it up to our customers and ask for feedback. We have a small pilot system we can try out new beers on. That's why we left the tap room open to the brewery, so people can see in and see how it's done."

Bad Habit Brewing will be open Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

A pre-opening party will be held at the brewery on Friday night. However, tickets to the event have sold out.
