Authorities Find Body of Trapper in Alexandria Area Slough
ALEXANDRIA - The body of a trapper has been found in Douglas County.
The Sheriff's Office says they were asked to do a welfare check on Friday on a 63-year-old man with a history of health issues. He had not been seen for about three weeks.
Deputies did not find him at his home.
Further investigation led them to a slough near East Lake Mary Road. A Conservation Officer checked the slough by kayak, where he found a male body partially submerged in the water next to a small kayak and trapping equipment.
The body was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.
The death is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
