Argument Over Beer Leaves Man With Bitten-Off Ear
ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud woman faces an assault charge after she allegedly bit part of her husband's ear off over an argument about beer.
According to the criminal complaint, 37-year-old Jamie Elrod and her husband were out at a bar drinking last Friday night. The couple returned home and began arguing. Elrod then called police to report the argument.
When Elrod's husband went into the bedroom, she followed. The husband told police she was yelling at him about beer when she bit his ear. When he pulled back, she ripped the ear off.
Officers found blood at the scene and part of the man's ear lying on the bedroom floor.
Elrod appeared drunk and told police she didn't know what happened to her husband's ear, but jail phone records to her "mom" revealed she admitted to biting off the ear and told her to make sure the husband didn't talk to police.
Elrod was arrested on suspicion of felony First Degree Assault - Great Bodily Harm. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
