SARTELL -- A 13-year-old boy was hurt after being hit by a car yesterday (Tuesday) morning in Sartell.

The incident happened along 7th Street North at about 8:20 a.m. in front of the Sartell Middle School.

Sartell Police Chief Jim Hughes says a Sartell woman was heading west on 7th Street North, to drop her son off at the school.

The boy then got out of the truck, ran out in front of traffic and was hit by a driver heading east.

The boy was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by his mother. He suffered injuries to his shoulder, elbow, hand and leg.

Hughes says the driver who hit the boy was going 20 mph at the time of the incident. No citations were issued.
