1-Year-Old Dead in Reported Brooklyn Park Assault

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (AP) - A 1-year-old boy is dead in Brooklyn Park in what police are calling an assault case.

Police were called to a home Tuesday evening because the boy wasn't breathing. He was taken to North Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Police say witnesses said the child had been assaulted. They gave officers the name of a 23-year-old suspect known to the child's family.
