Wright County Sheriff: Stay Off the Ice

WRIGHT COUNTY -- The Wright County Sheriff's Office is reminding you to stay off the ice this holiday weekend.

With the recent rain and warm weather, ice that is on area lakes, ponds, rivers and streams has deteriorated and become unsafe.

Ice thickness on lakes can go from six inches in one spot and under three inches within a few feet.

Deputies say to keep yourself, loved one and others safe this holiday season and wait until the ice is safe.
