FIERY SHOOTING -- The man who shot himself while warning firefighters to leave his burning home in Big Lake Township has died. Police say it was 58-year-old Kurt Beucler of Big Lake.

SEX ABUSE -- Sentencing in mid-June for 55-year-old Douglas Kleinsmith of Sartell. He pleaded guilty to charges of sexually abusing a teenage altar boy at least four times.

DOWNTOWN ROAD PROJECT -- Get ready for a huge road reconstruction project in downtown St. Cloud's bar and entertainment district on 5th Avenue south. Underground utilities, lighting, street signs and sidewalks -- all updated in a 1-point-7-million dollar project starting in June.

CLEARWATER PARK -- Speaking of improvements, Lions Park and Pavilion in Clearwater's getting some 20-thousand dollars in upgrades this year, and even more next year. New doors, windows, sheetrock and lighting as well as versacourt, tennis court and pickleball lines by mid-May.
