Waite Park Denies Financial Support To Help Attract Air Carrier

WAITE PARK - Waite Park will support the St. Cloud Regional Airport in spirit, but not financially.

The city council voted last (Monday) night not to give $1,000 in the latest effort to attract an air carrier.

St. Cloud is applying for a $750,000 federal Small Community Air Service Development Grant.  As part of that effort they're asking regional cities and counties to kick-in some more money to reach a $1 million goal.

Waite Park joins St. Joseph in refusing to chip-in.  However Sartell has joined Stearns and Benton counties in pledging financial support.
