LITTLE FALLS -- A Todd County man has been convicted of felony stalking after authorities say he was stalking Todd County Attorney Charles Rasmussen.

It's 63-year-old Earl Thom's second violation in 10 years. He was previously convicted of violating a harassment restraining order in 2009.

In this instance, Thom was using binoculars to monitor Rasmussen's home and witnesses reported seeing him drive past the home at least 14 times between April and October of last year. A witness also reported Thom wanted to hurt Rasmussen because he was prosecuting a separate charge against Thom.

Stearns County prosecuted the case because it presented a conflict of interest for the Todd County Attorney's Office.

A sentencing date hasn't been set.
