ST. PAUL (AP) - Eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 in St. Paul will be closed for bridge work over the weekend.

The closure between Interstate 35E and Mounds Boulevard will start at 10 p.m. Friday. The lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday. Drivers should take northbound 1-35E to eastbound I-694 to avoid the closure.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the closure will allow crews to remove and replace bridge beams on the Lafayette/U.S. 52 Bridge over the I-94 lanes. The bridge and ramp from northbound U.S. 52 to I-94 will stay open.
