ST. CLOUD -- To show appreciation for first responders and other emergency personnel, St. Mary's Cathedral will be hosting a "Blue Mass" Thursday night.

Bishop Donald Kettler will be leading the service at 7:00 p.m. A reception will be held afterwards.

Bishop Kettler says it's important for us to honor people who put their lives on the line for us every day.

"Our police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel are modern-day Good Samaritans who make personal sacrifices every day to protect and care for others. This Mass is an opportunity to thank them and their families and to pray for their safety and well-being."

St. Mary's Cathedral is in downtown St. Cloud, at 25 8th Avenue South.
