ST. CLOUD - Few organizations are as busy as the Salvation Army during the holiday season. Community need is growing all the time, but according to running collection totals, central Minnesotans are rising to the occasion to assist their neighbors.

Major Steven Kohler of the St. Cloud Salvation Army was on WJON this morning with Bob Hughes. He says the level of charitable community effort is very strong this year.

He says they're still in need of more items like coats, hats and mittens for children and families.

If you'd like to give, you can drop off donations any weekday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army along Highway 10 in east St. Cloud.
