ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud couple faces child endangerment charges after authorities say their young child tested positive for methamphetamine.

St. Cloud Police began investigating the allegations at a home in the 400 block of 25th Avenue North in December.

Court records show 40-year-old Jamie Wade and 51-year-old James Trebtoske took their seven-month-old daughter to St. Cloud Hospital November 11th because she had been crying uncontrollably for hours. The infant tested positive for meth while at the hospital and was taken into protective custody.

According to the criminal complaint, Wade told investigators she had used meth in the past but denied any current use. Wade believed Trebtoske was still using meth.

The complaint shows Trebtoske told police that he and Wade used meth in the basement of the home November 11th and he was unsure where the child was at the time.

The mother said the child had just begun crawling on her own.

Both Wade and Trebtoske have hearings scheduled for August 1st in Stearns County District Court.
