St. Cloud Metro Unemployment Rate Drops 1% in April

UNDATED - The unemployment rate in the St. Cloud metro area dropped last month. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says we're at 3.8 percent in April, down from the 4.8 percent we had in March.

DEED says that while the number employed people in the St. Cloud metro area stayed about the same, the number of people reporting to be looking for a job fell by about 1,100.

Our 3.8 percent unemployment rate matches the statewide figure, and we're lower than the national average of 5.4 percent.
