Minnesota employers had about 123,000 job openings in the second quarter of this year. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says that's up 26 percent from the same period a year ago when there were more than 97,000 vacancies statewide.
The unemployment rate in the St. Cloud metro area dropped last month. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says we're at 3.8 percent in April, down from the 4.8 percent we had in March.

Minnesota's unemployment rate is continuing its downward trend. The Department of Employment and Economic Security announced Thursday that the state had a 5.2 percent jobless rate in June. That's a tenth of a percent lower from where it was in May.
