ST. CLOUD - The Pioneer Place on 5th got into the Christmas spirit and hosted the 12th Annual St. Cloud "TubaChristmas" concert Friday night.

Dozens of musicians took part in this yearly event. The theater quickly filled when the doors opened for this popular concert, the event was free and open to everyone.

2013 is the 40th anniversary for TubaChristmas concerts that take place around the world. Tuba Christmas was started in 1974 by musician Harvey Phillips as a tribute to his teacher and mentor William J. Bell, who was born on Christmas day.

The concert is now held around the world to celebrate those who play and teach instruments in the tuba family.
