WAITE PARK -- Waite Park's Asian-themed restaurant has been in a temporary closure and now could be closed for good.

On November 7, Spice Restaurant announced via Facebook they were in a temporary closure due to a kitchen remodel.

Waite Park Planning and Community Development Director Jon Noerenberg says the city does have any permits for a kitchen remodeling and that a liquor license for another restaurant has been submitted for that location.

Noerenberg say during Monday's city council meeting, the council will look to approve the new liquor license for El Loro Mexican Restaurant.

Calls to Spice owner MD "Assad" Asaduzzaman for comment of a possible sale have gone unanswered.

Spice Restaurant opened on November 23 2015. Prior to that the building was home to the Hacienda for about a year and Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant for about 15 years.
