Special Election Set for Late Stearns Commissioner Otte’s Seat
ST. CLOUD -- Stearns County has set the dates to hold a special election in filling the seat of the late Don Otte.
Otte died August 13th after a long battle with cancer.
The filing period for Otte's District 5 seat will be from September 10th until 5:00 p.m. September 17th.
The primary election will be held November 19th with the general election taking place January 28th.
Auditor-Treasurer Randy Schreifels says it is the most aggressive timeline allowed by state law.
