Soup & Chili Bowl Raises More Than $35K For Paralyzed Cold Spring Resident
COLD SPRING -- Organizers of the 5th Annual Cold Spring Jaycees Soup & Chili Bowls event are calling it a success.
They say more than 2,000 people attended the contest and helped raise money for the food shelf and paralyzed Cold Spring resident Roger Illies.
The benefit for Illies was separate from the Soup & Chili Bowl and raised more than $35,000. The Jaycees will contribute their chili contest proceeds to Illies as well.
The event also raised $437 for the food shelf and brought in 962 pounds of food.
