Snowmobiles Collide on Hill Top, Crash Under Investigation

ST. ANNA -- The Stearns County Sheriff's Department responded to a snowmobile crash north of St. Anna just after 2:00 p.m. yesterday (Friday).

Deputies says 17-year-old Jesse Dummer, of Sartell, was heading north on a trail adjacent to County Road 9.

67-year-old Ronald Toenies, or Freeport, was heading south on the same trail when they both met on the top of a small hill and collided.

Both snowmobilers had helmets on.

Dummer was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for injuries to his leg, while Toenis was brought to Albany Hospital by a family member.

Both snowmoblies had substantial damage. The crash is still under investigation.
